‘Like a sport, art is something I enjoy. Of course we need bread so we sell, but it is like a hobby, we like it, seeing people who enjoy our work and sometimes we discuss amongst ourselves, and it is funny.’

| Right Mukore created our check-out counter and
coffee table. He’s been working in wood for over 15 years. The wood he uses comes from building sites, council & national parks. From his open air studio at Montabello he transforms tree trunks into tables, sculptures and chairs. An urban refugee with a mission to support his family back home in Zimbabwe, he’s an inspiration for what can be accomplished in the face of great adversity. |
