'I believe as designers that in the materials we use, we have a responsibility to ensure that they are non-toxic and harvested sustainably. In general we are better informed than our clients as to what materials to choose for a job, their availability and design potential.’

Weyers Marais has built our tables from recycled fruit palettes.

Not interested in working for a big corporate, Weyers wants to follow his dream – and that’s to do what he loves – working with his hands to create product from materials that will give back to the world, not take from it. But the kite flies higher, Weyer would like to work with unskilled people to train them in what he does, building a team who through their skills can develop their own careers.
His passion comes from a deep faith in a God that he believes has given him these abilities and he is using them to help create a world that he feels is worth living in.
